Weight Plateau; Chronic Fatigue; Frequent Panic Attacks; Inflammation

Brandon S. March 11, 2025

This time last year I lost about 60 lbs doing a keto diet and I was hungry all of the time. I figured it was just my genetics. Tried eating what I thought were healthy foods and even with lots of exercise 10k-21k steps every day still couldn’t lose anymore weight and felt tired at many points through the day.

During vacation a few weeks ago a HS friend introduced my wife and me to Dr Morse. I’ve been focused mainly on fruits with some vegetables. I’m completely shocked at being in Ketosis after eating so much fruit every day. My GKI is 5 after two weeks and I’m down almost 15 lbs. Most of that was inflammation water weight I think.

The only time I feel hungry is right before I eat some fruit during the day and at night vegetables. Starting to feel a lot better in this short period of time. Haven’t felt this good in a long time and about 10 lbs away from my ideal weight. Even after losing 60 lbs I knew I didn’t feel the way I should and something wasn’t right.

Plan on doing different levels of detox now that I “Completely” and finally understand what is going on. Lymphatics, endocrines and the difference between poly and mono saccharides.

I was also dealing with frequent panic attacks a lot of them triggered by fasting and exercise. Haven’t experienced one in the last 3 weeks since I started this. Amazing work Dr Morse!

Side note if you are monitoring blood sugar and keystones make sure your hands are throughly washed of the fruit sugars! Couldn’t figure out why my blood sugar was 180-225 at night. Residual sugar on a finger will throw off readings. After I tested 225 I washed my hands and retested and I was at 112.

Special Notes

In response to the question, "How large are your fruit meals for your blood sugar readings to be 112? Do you test two hours after eating? And how long do you space out your fruit meals?", Brandon responded:

I don’t think I go more than 2-4 hours between eating fruit during the day. I test my blood sugar in the morning when I wake up and it’s usually 98-120. Sometimes it’s been in the 80s. Then I test again after I eat at the end of the day out of curiosity. Still in the 100s to 120. That’s an hr or two after I eat. These numbers mirror my old numbers. I’m not seeing a change yet but I feel it’s early.

In the morning I eat 1/4 of a melon or a plate full of fruit. Sometimes I continue the fast until 11am. Then I wait until I get truly hungry, I can feel it in my stomach. I eat a piece of fruit or two and give it time then see if I’m still hungry. If my stomach is nagging I’ll eat more.

I’ve been building a shed, working on a foundation for a home and other projects. So I’m getting that exercise plus averaging about 8k steps a day. I go back to work soon so inspecting roads and I’ll be pushing for 10k steps a day on average.
